Physical Products
Return Eligibility
You may return physical products (such as printed journals, planners, and stationery) within 30 days of delivery if:
- The item is unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging
- You have the original receipt or proof of purchase
- The item is not listed as “final sale” or “non-returnable”
Items that have been used, personalized, or custom-made cannot be returned unless they are defective or damaged upon arrival.
Return Process
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
- Contact our customer service team at support@scatteredsprout.ca with your order number and reason for return
- Our team will provide you with a Return Authorization Number (RAN) and return instructions
- Package the item securely in its original packaging if possible
- Include the RAN and a copy of your receipt or order confirmation
- Ship the package to the address provided in the return instructions
We recommend using a trackable shipping method to ensure your return can be monitored.
Refund Process
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you about the status of your refund.
If approved:
- The refund will be processed to your original payment method within 5-7 business days
- Refunds include the cost of the returned item(s) but not the original shipping charges, unless the return is due to our error
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of defective or incorrectly shipped items
Exchanges
If you wish to exchange an item for a different size, color, or product, please follow the return process and place a new order for the desired item. This ensures faster processing and availability of your preferred product.
Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective item:
- Contact us within 7 days of receiving the product
- Provide photos of the damage or defect
- We will arrange for a replacement or refund, including return shipping costs
Digital Products
Return Eligibility
Due to the nature of digital products (such as downloadable planners, templates, or printables), all sales are final once the product has been downloaded or access has been provided.
However, we offer refunds for digital products in the following cases:
- You have not downloaded or accessed the digital product yet
- The digital product is substantially different from what was advertised
- The digital product contains significant technical errors that make it unusable (such as corrupt files or non-functioning features)
Refund Process for Digital Products
To request a refund for a digital product:
- Contact our customer service team at support@scatteredsprout.ca within 14 days of purchase
- Provide your order number and a detailed explanation of the issue
- Our team will review your request and respond within 3 business days
- If approved, the refund will be processed to your original payment method
Subscription Cancellations
For subscription-based products or services:
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting customer service
- Cancellations made before your next billing date will prevent future charges
- We do not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods
- Prepaid subscriptions will continue until the end of the paid period
Gift Cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.
Promotional Items and Free Gifts
Promotional items, free gifts, or items purchased with store credit may have different return conditions or may not be eligible for refunds. These conditions will be specified at the time of the promotion.
Right to Refuse Returns
We reserve the right to refuse returns or refunds if:
- The return is made outside the specified return period
- The product shows signs of use or damage caused after delivery
- The product was marked as non-returnable or final sale

Shipping Costs for Returns
Unless otherwise specified:
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
- Return shipping costs are non-refundable
- If a return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, defective product, etc.), we will cover the return shipping costs
Processing Time
- Return processing: 3-5 business days after receiving the returned item
- Refund processing: 5-7 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your payment provider
